THERE are just two changed to catch a heart-warming play at Theatr Colwyn.

Magic Light Productions are back with their spring/summer production - this time, with a very different style of show.

The Kitchen Sink by Tom Wells is a funny and touching play about big dreams and small changes.

This poignant domestic drama follows the ups and downs of family life, including a ju-jitsu black-belt dream shattered by anger managment issues, a Dolly Parton obsessed teenage son, a plumber who wants to take his love of drains to the next level, failed Christmas Day sushi and a dilapidated milk float.

The cast is made up of local actors - Steve Bloor as ‘Martin’, Libby Loughland as ‘Kath’, Elen Edwards as ‘Sophie’, Thomas Dentith as ‘Billy’ and Dean Raymond as ‘Pete’.

This play sees regular pantomime performers Steve Bloor and Libby Loughland take on very different roles and introduces three new cast members to a Magic Light Productions show at Theatr Colwyn.

Actor and magician Dean Raymond from Llandudno has appeared in many productions in Liverpool and is also currently touring the UK with High Jinx Magic & Illusion Show.

Meanwhile, Elen Edwards and Thomas Dentith have performed in many productions locally with Powerplay, Pearl Shaw School of Performing Arts and more, and are both going on to train further in acting and musical theatre later this year.

Libby Loughland, actor and producer at Magic Light Productions, said: “We are thrilled with the cast of this show, there is so much local talent in the area and we want to be able to continue to produce a variety of shows throughout the year at Theatr Colwyn, including plays, if audiences want to watch."

"We hope for this to be a beautiful, funny and touching play that will stay with people long after they’ve left the theatre.”

Stuart Loughland, producer at Magic Light Productions said: “As much as we love our pantomimes and children’s shows, it’s wonderful to work on a different genre of show and offer a different side to Magic Light Productions which hopefully can continue, develop and grow year after year. I am looking forward to working with Antony, the director, on the set design and constructing a kitchen on stage for this brilliant play to take place in.”

The play will be staged at Theatr Colwyn, Colwyn Bay, on Monday and Tuesday, June 19 and 20, at 7.30pm.
