THE first batch of homes at a controversial housing development will hit the market at the end of the week.

Anwyl’s Parc Bodafon, situated off Nant-y-Gamar Road, will feature 49 homes, from one-to-five bedrooms, across four-acres.

The housebuilder will also create 17 affordable homes.

Homebuyers will be able to reserve a property at the new development from June 23.

Graeme Gibb, sales director for Anwyl Homes Cheshire and North Wales, said: “We’re excited to bring the first new homes at Parc Bodafon to market. It’s a superb site, with some properties offering sweeping views out over the coastline and Llandudno’s beautiful natural landscape.

“The development will also offer a wide-range of house types and styles to suit everyone from first time buyers to families. There will be some bespoke designs for this location, with large windows and balconies to make the most of the stunning outlook.”

Construction work on the development began in May and the first homes will be ready to move into in early 2024.

Prior to being granted, the homes plan was met with strong opposition. The homes are being built near to special school Ysgol Y Gogarth, which caters for children with a wide spectrum of additional learning needs, and its respite accommodation, Llys Gogarth.

Janet Finch-Saunders, MS for Aberconwy, wrote four separate letters to the council over nine months in opposition to the development.

Concerns were raised over noise and traffic, the loss of green space and its impact on the school.

The application was initially turned down but then approved after the building firm provided additional information regarding noise impact.

It is estimated, over its duration, the project will support about 150 jobs.

Anwyl will be releasing guide prices on a small number of new homes at Parc Bodafon. These will be available for early bird reservation.

Interested purchasers will be given first refusal when the homes are officially released for sale.

Mr Gibb added: “Potential purchasers can register their interest via our website to be the first inline to receive details and guide prices when they are released. Our early bird scheme gives homebuyers the chance to secure a property before it’s released for general scheme, usually around eight to 12 months before it will be completed. Upon official release, those customers then have first refusal on their chosen plot and can opt to make their early bird a full reservation.”

As part of the section 106 agreements, part of the planning consent, Anwyl will make contributions to the community totalling more than £64,000. These include more than £23,000 towards open space provision, about £13,600 towards education, nearly £10,000 towards library provision and around £1,000 towards allotments.

Anwyl is known for its development in Glyn Farm, Colwyn Bay, and Parc Aberkinsey in Rhyl.

The new homes in Llandudno will initially go on sale from Anwyl's Maes-y-Rhedyn development, near Wrexham. H Homebuyers can register their interest at anwyl.co.uk/parcbodafon
