A MAN is set to realise his “dream” as he prepares to open his own butchers shop in Rhos-on-Sea.

Lee Coates and his family and friends are putting the final pieces in place for the opening of Coates Butchery, which will be located at 14 Everard Road.

Lee, who has been in the butchery trade for 12 years, started out as a Saturday boy on the same premises that he will soon call his own (in what was then Humphreys of Rhos-on-Sea).

The business opening will see him achieve a dream he has had since 16, and he will run it with his partner, and aims to pass it onto his daughter in the future.

“I started off as a Saturday boy in this premises that I’m now opening as my own,” Lee told the Pioneer.

“My goal has always been to have my own shop one day, so to be able to open in the same place I started at 16 years old feels like I’ve gone full circle and is such a dream for me.

“The butchers will be a family run business with help from my partner and hopefully our little girl too when she’s a bit older.”

He said the shop will be offering “traditional style butchery with a modern twist”, and thanked his family and friends for help in making it possible.

“We wanted to say a big thank you to friends and family for helping us to renovate the shop.

“And the support from the local community has been amazing and greatly appreciated - we look forward to welcoming you through the doors.”

The business has not set an opening date yet, and said updates will be available on their social media pages.
