AN NHS worker from Llandudno has raised more than £600 for a breast cancer charity.

Sarah Pye, who is originally from Colwyn Bay, decided to raise money for Breast Cancer Now after her best friend was diagnosed with the disease, for which she is undergoing chemotherapy.

Sarah, who is a healthcare support worker at Llandudno Hospital, set an original target of 50 miles, and hoped to raise £150.

She has surpassed her own expectations, raising a whopping £610 after trekking 182 miles with her walking partner, Jack Russell/Shitzu cross Albie.

Ms Pye said it was “worth every mile”, and added: “I’ve worked so hard for this amazing charity, very close to my heart and also many others for sure.

“[It] was hard going but worth every mile and every penny for such a great cause. Time to rest now.”
