A NEW study has ranked the “LL” postcode area among the luckiest areas in the UK.

The research, conducted by online casino site “Mr Spin”, evaluated the number of Postcode Lottery wins per 10,000 households.

“LL” was rated as Wales’ luckiest postcode, and the seventh-luckiest in the entire UK, with 518 wins since records began.

Indeed, the region averages just more than 37 wins per 10,000 households.

The LL postcode area, also known as the Llandudno postcode area, covers 67 postcode districts, within 62 post towns.

These cover most of North Wales, plus a small part of West Wales and Shropshire.

Mr Spin’s research found that the TF (Telford) postcode was the luckiest area in the UK, while London was rated as home to nine of the 10 unluckiest postcodes.

It is estimated that 60 per cent of households play the Postcode Lottery.

To achieve a fair and accurate ranking, the number of estimated active players in each postcode was divided by 10,000 before being further multiplied by the number of wins in that postcode since records began (2011).

That ultimately determined how many wins each postcode has per 10,000 households.

The postcodes were then ranked from luckiest to unluckiest accordingly.

Digital marketing co-ordinator at Mr Spin, Joy Liu, said: “Although you have a small chance of winning big in the Postcode Lottery, as long as the £12 monthly fee is affordable for the entrant, it is often a worthwhile investment.

“As a trusted and responsible UK lottery, it has provided so many people with fortunate breaks.

“It is ultimately fascinating to learn where traditionally is the luckiest place to live as well as the unluckiest.”
