A FORMER wine bar and bistro in Colwyn Bay has been sold, after its sudden closure last year.

Sheldon’s Wine Bar & Bistro, at 8 Penrhyn Road, closed at the end of last year, having been popular since it first opened in November 2018.

According to Companies House, the business (Sheldons Bar Limited) had gone into liquidation, and Parkin S Booth Ltd: Insolvency Practitioners in Liverpool were appointed as liquidator.

The site went on the market for £189,950 (freehold) with St David's Commercial, who described it as "Undoubtedly one of the finest looking wine bars/cafes available”.

It has now been sold, and the estate agent did not disclose for how much or to whom.

The site has a ground floor extending to some 194m sq., with a fitted bar, kitchen, toilets, and a rear access with roller shutter doors – making it a perfect premises for a new bar.

Kate and Julian Roberts and Lorna and Jonathan Hughes founded Sheldon’s, with Lorna and Jonathan resigning as directors in July 2020, according to Companies House.
