THE Waverley will steam past Holyhead this afternoon.

The world's last seagoing paddle steamer, which made two sold out trips from Llandudno Pier this June, is travelling to Glasgow.

She took shelter off St Ives on Wednesday, October 11 and heaved anchor at 9.30pm last night before starting the final leg of her journey to Glasgow.

She is currently South-West of Anglesey at the moment (2.25pm on October 12) and will soon pass Holyhead.

Waverley Excursions posted on their Facebook page on Thursday, October 12: "This afternoon she is passing Bardsey Island off the Llŷn Peninsula, Wales, as she continues North. We now expect her to arrive in Glasgow tomorrow (Friday, October 13) ahead of her final cruises of the 2023 season.

"Bookings for the final two cruises on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 October are strong and we look forward to welcoming so many loyal supporters aboard for one more cruise before winter."

The Waverley is returning to Llandudno in 2024.

A spokesperson for the company said: "Based on the outstanding support towards Waverley’s sailings in June this year from Llandudno - we hope to return again in June 2024."

In June, it was the first time the Waverley had set sail from Llandudno Pier in five years.
