CCTV footage has been shared showing scenes from one of the three robberies a man from Llandudno committed earlier this year.

Kyle Jones, 21, of King’s Place, was sentenced to two years and four months’ imprisonment at Caernarfon Crown Court on October 27.

Of the three robberies, two involved weapons – a knife, and a baseball bat.

The below footage, provided by the Crown Prosecution Service, shows Jones at Llandudno’s Sainsbury’s store on Mostyn Street on September 15.

On that occasion, he tried to leave with four cans of Stella Artois lager without paying, when staff member John Bracegirdle tried to stop him.

This prompted Jones to reach into his waistband and pull out a knife, before asking Mr Bracegirdle: “Is it really worth getting stabbed for?”

Jones had previously robbed three frozen pizzas from the Co-op store in Deganwy on August 17, and alcohol from the Londis shop on Mostyn Street, Llandudno on September 3.

Defence barrister Sarah Yates said Jones, despite being an adult, is “still extremely young and immature”, and has used alcohol “potentially as a crutch”.

Recorder Benjamin Blakemore told Jones before sentencing him: “Each of these people who were victims of your conduct, and who you threatened, were just doing their job.

“Those people who work there are entitled to feel safe, and to be safe, while at work. They shouldn’t have to put up with threats such as those that you issued.

“It’s high time that you grew up. Your maturity seems to be lagging behind that of others.”
