A MAN who stalked and assaulted his ex-partner in Deganwy has been jailed.

David Taylor, 41, of Chemsley Road, Birmingham, was sentenced to 26 weeks’ imprisonment at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on October 30.

On the same date, he admitted charges of common assault, and of stalking involving serious alarm/distress.

The court heard that, between June 11 and October 10, Taylor repeatedly attended the Deganwy address of Keeley Barnes, his former partner, as well as phoning and messaging her on numerous occasions.

On August 15, he also assaulted Ms Barnes.

Taylor, who was told he caused her “serious distress”, was also handed a restraining order.

This prohibits him from contacting Ms Barnes directly or indirectly, or entering or attempting to enter any premises he knows Ms Barnes is occupying, for six years.

Any communication that Taylor wishes to make regarding child contact can be made only via a third party, social services, or an order of the family court.
