THE Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwyn Bay and the Llandudno Pier have both been nominated for the same prize at the Go North Wales Tourism Awards 2023.

They are two of five on the shortlist for “attraction of the year” at this year’s awards, which will be held at Venue Cymru in Llandudno tomorrow (November 23).

Also in the running are Llangollen and Corwen Railway, Aber Falls Distillery in Abergwyngregyn, and Corris Caverns.

Awards organisers Go North Wales describe Llandudno Pier as an “iconic seaside experience”, and the Welsh Mountain Zoo as a “wildlife sanctuary in the heart of Colwyn Bay”.

Other categories at this year’s awards include large and small hotels; B&B, inn and guest house, self-catering; glamping, camping, caravanning and holiday park; and attraction of the year.
