A PERSON was admitted to hospital yesterday (November 30) after a crash took place near a school in Llandudno.

This was on Maesdu Road, by Ysgol John Bright.

North Wales Police confirmed that this was a single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian, and that the Welsh Ambulance Service attended.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and information following a road traffic collision on Maesdu Road, Llandudno.

A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "At around 3.30pm yesterday, we received a report of a road traffic collision involving the driver of a Honda Jazz and a pedestrian near to the pedestrian crossing on Maesdu Road, between the junctions of Ffordd Las and Cwm Place.

"The casualty was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

"We are urging anybody who was on Maesdu Road at the time, who may have witnessed the collision, or that may have dashcam or witnessed an elderly female walking on Maesdu Road from the direction of the Links roundabout towards Ysgol John Bright, to make contact with us as soon as possible.

"Any witnesses are asked to contact officers from the Roads Crime Unit via our live webchat or calling 101, quoting reference number 23001209795."

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called yesterday at 3.32pm to reports of an incident on Maesdu Road, Llandudno.

“We sent one emergency ambulance and a Cymru High Acuity Response Unit paramedic to the scene.

“One person was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd for further treatment.”
