SANTA arrived by helicopter to give children from Conwy and Denbighshire being cared for at a hospice a magical day.
While his sleigh was in for the annual MOT, Santa Claus himself came zooming through the skies on a helicopter to deliver some early festive cheer to children and families at Tŷ Gobaith children’s hospice in the Conwy Valley.
Thanks to RAF Shawbury the specially charted flight touched down in the hospice grounds - and children from across North Wales along with their families were greeted by the man in red and his elf helper, Jenny.
Some children were even able to board the helicopter and experience the controls.
Santa met William and Bedwyr of Llanrwst, and Thomas of Denbigh, among many other delighted children.
Speaking on behalf of Santa, Lieutenant Commander Martin Pickles, who piloted the special flight, said: “It’s been an honour to bring Santa to meet these very special children, and what a beautiful location it is too.”
Santa was welcomed inside the hospice for a mince pie and a hot drink where he gave out presents and posed for photographs before being whisked back off to the North Pole to continue his preparations for the big day.
As these pictures show it was a truly magical day.
