RHOS-ON-SEA promenade is expected to be opened to the public by the end of January, with some travel routes to be opened tomorrow (December 22).

The footpath and parking areas between Rhos-on-Sea and the slipway were opened to the public on Thursday, 14 December.

From Friday 22 December, the contractor will open large areas of the active travel route and seating areas.

The promenade road, play areas, and sub-station areas at either end, and an area in the centre, will remain closed for now, with work on street lighting, fencing, painting and safety features remaining.

A Conwy County Borough Council spokesperson said: "We expect the road, parking and play areas to be open to the public by the end of January.

"This won’t quite be the end of the promenade improvements - work will continue over the winter and into spring, including adding shelters, artwork and kiosks."
