REHEARSALS are in full swing for Mother Goose at Theatr Colwyn!

The egg-stra special pantomime, by Magic Light Productions, which is packed full of hilarious yokes, runs from December 23 until January 6.

The adaption stars panto favourites Stuart Loughland (Mother Goose), Libby Loughland (Fairy Vanity) and Steve Bloor (Billy Goose) as well as Joanna Pierce-Jones (Jill Gander) and Hannah Rose Silfeet (Fairy Virtue).

Libby, producer and director, is playing a villain and she admitted to the Pioneer that she can't wait for the 'boos!'

"I love it!" She said.

"It is like therapy every Christmas. I could just go on stage and be really horrible and get away with it.

"It is really interesting to have people shout 'boo' and things like that and I love it and if they don't do that, I'm asking 'what's wrong?!' The more booing and hissing the better."

Asked what spell she would like to cast in real life, Libby replied: "I would make all food and drink free to everybody for ever. That would be my spell!"

Mother Goose is possibly the oldest story to be turned in to a pantomime. It tells the story of Mother Goose and her enchanted Goose, Priscilla, who embark on an adventure filled with laughter, love and valuable life lessons.

In the story, Mother Goose is used as an example by two fairies; a goose, that lays golden eggs, is sent to her and suddenly she has got all the riches in the world but she quickly becomes bored.

The show features Pearl Shaw School of Performing Arts.
