A CASUALTY was taken to hospital after a crash on the A55 near Conwy yesterday (January 1).
Emergency services were called to the incident, at junction 19 of the road, at roughly 3pm yesterday afternoon.
The Welsh Ambulance Service and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service both attended, after a car was said to have been on a grass verge facing oncoming traffic.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called yesterday at approximately 3.01pm to reports of a road traffic collision on the A55, near Conwy.
“We sent an emergency ambulance and a Cymru High Acuity Response Unit to the scene.
“We conveyed one patient to hospital for further treatment."
A North Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: “We were called to an incident involving one vehicle on January 1 at 3.15pm on the A55 junction 19 near Glan Conwy (near the entrance to the tunnel).
“Two appliances attended. There was no fire situation. Crews made the vehicle electrically safe and liaised with ambulance staff.
“One casualty was treated by paramedics.”
