A GLOBAL online magazine has rated Wales' first ever 'Whisky Fest' as one of the 'best new things to do in the UK' this year.

Time Out,  published by Time Out Group, ranked the festival, taking place in between November 1 and November 3 2024 at the St George’s Hotel in Llandudno, as the fifth best new thing to do in the UK.

They wrote: "When the dark nights roll in and the November chill hits, warm the cockles at Wales’s first ever whisky festival. Scotland has always held the whisky crown, but the likes of the Penderyn and Aber Falls distilleries are helping Wales rise from dark horse to a proper player in the liquor world.

"The event, held in the seaside town of Llandudno from November 1 to 3, kicks off with a swanky launch dinner, pairing four courses with the syrupy spirit.

"Across the rest of the weekend, 25 whiskey makers from around the globe will serve up tastings, tours and masterclasses."

Topping the list, which had 24 spots, is London’s National Gallery, which will celebrate 200 years in May. The gallery will be sending its mobile art studio to 18 locations over a year.

In second place is Manchester’s new Co-op Arena; In third - UK’s vineyards and brand new attractions and in fourth, Skepta’s new music festival.

Organisers of the first Wales Whisky Fest 2024 have partnered with Penderyn Distillery. The event is sponsored by Aber Falls Distillery, Larkfire Wild Water, Whisgi Wales Podcast, and Daffodil Tours.

There will be three days of events starting with an opening party and a paired four course evening meal supported on Friday, November 1.

There will also be free tours and tastings at Penderyn Distillery in Llandudno and Aber Falls Distillery in Conwy for ticket holders.
