ONE school has been forced to close in Conwy after yet more heavy rain and gale force blasts. 

Ysgol Talhaiarn, in Llanfair Talhaiarn, is closed due to no electricity.

No schools are currently listed as closed in Denbighshire. 

Storm Jocelyn brought fresh travel disruption to much of the UK yesterday, less than two days after Storm Isha left two people dead and thousands without power.

The 10th named storm of the season has brought an amber warning for wind to parts of Scotland. Much of the UK is currently covered by a yellow alert which will last until Wednesday afternoon.

The Yellow weather warning for wind in place for Conwy and Denbighshire. This is in force until 1pm.

A statement for the Met Office said: "A dry and bright start for most with winds continuing to ease. North and East Wales will hang on to sunshine for much of the day, whilst elsewhere skies will cloud over with light rain possible in South Wales later. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

"Tonight - clear spells across North Wales at first, perhaps with an early frost. Otherwise clouding over with light rain slowly pushing northwards overnight. Some heavier bursts are possible over the mountains. Minimum temperature 1 °C."

Yesterday, a road was force to close due to flooding at A548 Llangernyw to Llanfair TH (this re-opened just after 6pm).

Other roads that were shut due to flooding included: B5106 Llanrwst to Gwydyr; Groes Road, Colwyn Bay and Garth Road, Glan Conwy.

There is some disruption to travel - The 6.42am Llandudno to Manchester Airport train (due 9.15am) will be delayed at Warrington Bank Quay.

This is due to an object being caught on the overhead electric wires.

There is a flood alert in place for areas around the River Dee from Llangollen to Trevalyn Meadows.
