VENUE Cymru will consider auditorium and foyer improvements after being given a £10m grant.

The Llandudno theatre has been awarded the huge sum as part of the UK Government’s Levelling-Up Fund.

The UK Government announced before Christmas it had set aside £100m for levelling-up culture projects.

The Government has said it has prioritised areas that hadn’t received funding in the past.

A spokeswoman for the council-owned venue confirmed that the plans for the money are not yet finalised.

“The Venue Cymru element of last year’s bid to the Levelling-Up Fund focused on enhancements to the arts and creative offer at Venue Cymru,” she said.

“Following the announcement of a £10m award, the project team will revisit the original proposals to finalise which aspects will be progressed.
