DON'T be late for this very important date!

Llandudno's annual Miss Alice Competition is set to take place this year on Saturday, June 1.

Poppy Bowen-Roberts is the current Miss Alice for 2023 / 2024.

An application form and further details can be found here.

A spokesperson on the Miss Alice Sub-Committee said: "The competition is open to young people in the age range of eight to 10 years on June 1 2024 who live in one of the Llandudno wards."

The winner of the Miss Alice competition will be presented with a sash showing her title and a ‘Miss Alice’ outfit consisting of a dress, fleece/jacket. Miss Alice is required to wear the outfit to all public appearances.

During her year of office Miss Alice will be asked to attend the following annual Town Council events:

  • Civic Sunday – July 28
  • Llandudno in Bloom – September 2024
  • Remembrance Sunday – November 10 2024
  • Christmas Parade – December 7
  • Mayor Making – May 23 2025

Miss Alice will also be asked to make public appearances at other events within the town such as The Victorian Extravaganza, accompany the mayor to Civic Engagements such as hospital visits and on occasion make visits out of area.

Engagements mostly take place on weekends/during the summer months but can take place at other times.

A spokesperson for Llandudno Town Council said: "Miss Alice must make every effort to be available to carry out these duties.

"The town council will try to give as much notice as possible but requests can be received at short notice.

"Parents/Guardians of Miss Alice are reminded of the commitment should their daughter become Miss Alice as they need to be available to transport her to and from engagements."

The closing date for entries is Monday, April 29. All successful applicants will be invited to a special judging panel to be held on Saturday, June 1 at the Trinity Centre, Trinity Avenue, Llandudno.
