A VAST array of vehicles will again be visiting Llandudno during the May bank holiday weekend when the town’s annual transport festival returns next month.
Running for more than 30 years, the festival, at Bodafon Fields, will again run concurrently with the town’s Victorian Extravaganza, during the bank holiday weekend of May 4-6.
As usual, there will be a wide array of exhibitions, including of lorries, tractors and motorbikes, for visitors to immerse themselves in.
On the Saturday evening (May 5), a cavalcade of exhibits, leave the showground to go via a heavily marshalled route into Conwy, via Llanrhos and Deganwy, through the town’s tight arches, then back to the fields.
The following day, the exhibitors again leave the showground to tour across Llandudno, ascending Marine Drive and up to the Great Orme.

Though, these rides are weather-permitting.
Jim Ricketts, festival organiser, said: “It’s all down to the weather at the moment because it’s so wet down there; we’re just hoping everything’s going to be OK.
“We’re just trying to get a contingency plan in order; we just need some sunshine and wind to alleviate the issue.
“There will be a American army convoy replica setup this time, which used to go across the Alps in one of the World Wars!
“We’ve still got just as many exhibits coming, and some similar and new stuff. We’re fully booked, so it’s been absolutely bonkers. It took a week just to fill up.
“And if the weather holds, we’ll do the trips through Conwy and the Great Orme again.”
At the transport festival, the gates will open each day at 9am until late on Saturday and Sunday, and until 5pm on Monday.
Admission to the transport festival costs £8.50 for adults, £2 for children, and £2.50 for car parking.
The transport festival and the Victorian Extravaganza will be connected via a free “hop on, hop off” bus service, running from 10am each day, between the pair of them throughout the weekend.
A free shuttle bus will pick up and drop off from Vaughan Street, Llandudno.
