A LENGTHY Cymru North season in North East Wales finally draws to a close at The Globe this evening.

Two weeks after the initial deadline for the conclusion of the campaign was missed due to a number of postponed matches, the curtain will be drawn with Buckley Town’s home clash against relegated Chirk AAA.

This will be the final match at the helm for Chirk boss Gary Jones and he will be hoping that his in-form side manages to stretch the unbeaten run to five matches to complete the campaign.

Buckley are likely to finish a mixed season in 11th position, but boss Asa Hamilton is aiming higher for next time out.

“Next season we want to be up there challenging,” he told the club’s Facebook page.

“If we want to be there next season, we’ve got to start taking our chances and, listen, I’m not having a go at the strikers, because Max (Moore) has been absolutely unbelievable for us and next season, Max will be, take my word for it... one of the top scorers in the league. I 100 per cent believe that.

“(Liam) Driscoll is our absolute number one main man. He does everything and (against Airbus), I’ll be honest, I was disappointed in the two of them a little bit, because they didn’t do what I asked them to do, not about them missing the chances.

“If they do what I tell them to do, they score goals. I have 100 per cent faith in both of them.

“Moving forward, we just need to take our chances a bit better.”
