A NORTH Wales Police constable facing gross misconduct allegations has had his case dismissed following a hearing at Police Headquarters which concluded yesterday (May 23).

The incidents related to unwanted and inappropriate behaviour towards a colleague while off duty, as well as making derogatory comments about her to a colleague.

It had been alleged that the officer had breached the standards of professional behaviour relating to authority, respect and courtesy and discreditable conduct.

Yesterday, these allegations were found not proven.

Speaking after conclusion of the hearing, Deputy Chief Constable Nigel Harrison said: “We take all allegations of misconduct extremely seriously and we respect the decision of the panel after carefully weighing up the available evidence.

"We also thank all those that came forward so that evidence could be rightly tested.

"We continue to encourage those who have been subject to inappropriate behaviour to come forward with confidence that we will investigate their allegations thoroughly."
