A SEAFRONT hotel in Llandudno has been crowned the best in the town, after winning a TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice award for the seventh consecutive year.

The Elm Tree, on North Parade, was ranked the number one small hotel in Llandudno and among the top 10 per cent of hotels worldwide.

The hotel has a history of excellence, and last year was named seventh in the ‘Best Small Hotel’ category as part of the Awards’ ‘Best of the Best’ listing and sixth in the ‘Best Romantic Hotel’ category.

Each hotel is selected based on its standards having passed the reviewing platform’s "rigorous trust and safety standards".

Llandudno hotel wins TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice award

The award is testament to the management of the business, which only reopened in May 2021 after a 14-month closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Owner Lynette Esposito said that despite there “probably not ever being a more challenging time in running a successful business”, the award was thanks to her staff and the hotel’s guests.

“I’m obviously extremely proud and grateful to our guests and my dedicated team, who make it possible to be ranked as Llandudno’s #1 small hotel and in the top 10 per cent of hotels worldwide,” she told the Pioneer.

“There has probably not ever been a more challenging time in running a successful business, coping with extreme operating cost increases, labour shortages and of course, delivering to guest expectation amidst higher than usual rate increases.

“Being recognised and acknowledged by our guests in the first instance is therefore extremely gratifying but also essential in terms of maintaining competitor advantage in a very strong destination.”
