Ysgol y Creuddyn’s Music and Drama department recently staged a successful production of Matilda the youth version.
The show, translated into Welsh by Elin Angharad Davies and Sioned Roberts, played to sold-out audiences across four performances.
A spokesperson for the Penrhyn Bay school said: "We would have been able to sell another night as there were so many praising and wanting to come and see it."
Leading the cast were students Tesni Thomas in the title role, Miriam Alun as Miss Trunchbull, Millie Roberts portraying Miss Honey, Iolo Brown playing Mr Wormwood, Rhodd Friswell as Mrs Wormwood, and Tomos Edwards as Bruce Bogtrotter.
Audience reactions were extremely positive as one commented: "it's as good a standard as the West End!"
Whilst another viewer said: "HUGE congratulations on an absolutely amazing production!"
In recognition of the students' hard work, the department organised a special film screening at Cineworld, showcasing a recording of the musical filmed by Dr Gareth Evans.
He also created movie-style adverts featuring the student performers to give the feel of a real film.
Highlights of the day included a visit to McDonald's and the pupils receiving a DVD and Blue-ray of the production.
The event was structured as a premiere with a red carpet, opened by Ms Thomas who starred as Matilda.
Businesses in the area also played a crucial role in supporting the event.
Cineworld at Llandudno Junction, McDonald's, Silentsea Photography, and Castle Carpets of Abergele provided facilities and services.
The day was recorded on Instagram @cerddadrama_creuddyn where followers can view a 'reel' of the day's events.
