Boxing Day and New Year's Day Dips are set to take place up and down the North Wales coast once again in 2024/25.
Hundreds of brave participants take to North Wales waters as part of these dips every year, enjoying some festive frivolity and perhaps helping to wake themselves up from a Christmas Day full of food and drink.
So if you are looking to brave it this year and take on a Boxing Day or New Year's Day dip, here are the events taking place in North Wales.

Boxing Day and New Year's Day dips in North Wales
Llandudno Lions Club Boxing Day Dip
When: December 26, 2024 - check in 10am, into the water at 11.30am
Where: Old lifeboat slipway (near the St George's Hotel), Llandudno
Cost: Free
The Boxing Day Dip in Llandudno attracts more than 100 participants every year, as well as thousands of spectators.
There are prizes for the first brave female and male to enter the water and also for best fancy dress.

Deganwy Boxing Day Dip
When: December 26, 2024 - check in 10.30am, into the water at 11am
Where: Deganwy Beach
Cost: Free
The Deganwy Boxing Day Dip, run by Conwy Town Council, is on again in 2024.
You have the chance to win prizes for your chosen charity by dressing up for the event.
Children in fancy dress can win prizes for themselves.
RNLI Rhyl Festive Dip
When: January 1, 2025 - registration opens at 11am, into the water at 1pm
Where: RNLI Rhyl Lifeboat Station
Cost: Minimum donation of £5 per dipper
The RNLI Rhyl Festive Dip is back for another year.
"Brave the chill and take a dip this New Years Day and help raise funds for RNLI Rhyl to help saves lives at sea," event organisers said.
You can register online via the Eventbrite website (which also contains more information on the event) or on the day.
RNLI Porthdinllaen New Year's Day Dip
When: January 1, 2025 at 12pm (registration and sign in will be open at the Cliffs, Free house from 9:45am)
Where: Traeth Bwlch, Morfa Nefyn
Cost: £10 for adults and £5 for children (includes a medal)
Visit Wales, describing the RNLI Porthdinllaen New Year's Day Dip, said: "This one may well scoop the 'prettiest location' prize.
"It's held on the beach at stunning peninsular Porthdinllaen, where the local boozer, the Ty Coch, is often hailed as one of the world's best beach bars."
Entrants are encouraged to register online before the event and then sign in on the day. However, you can do both upon arrival at the New Year's Day dip.

Abersoch RNLI New Year's Day Dip
When: January 1, 2025 at 12pm (check-in from 11.30am)
Where: Abersoch Beach, Llŷn Peninsula
Cost: £10 for adults and £5 for children (includes a medal)

The dip is open to all age groups, but young children must be supervised by a responsible adult.

There will be a separate area for smaller children and their families to enter the sea.
Everyone is encouraged to dress up for the event, with the theme for this year being “nautical madness”.
Event organisers said they are "looking forward to seeing the usual array of imaginative costumes".
