Care home residents in Colwyn Bay were treated to choir performances and animal encounters as part of Care Home Open Week.
Merton Place Care Home organised a series of activities between June 16 and 22 to celebrate the national week, which aims to connect care homes with their communities and showcase the care they provide.
Valerie Smith, activities coordinator at Merton Place, said: "Our residents are all so different, and this is something we celebrate here.
"Whether someone enjoys a lively group activity or some quieter moments, we make sure there’s something for everyone."
The week began with a visit from the St David’s College choir, whose students performed a selection of songs for residents, encouraging singalongs and interaction.
Later in the week, Animal Encounters brought a range of creatures to the home, including guinea pigs, rabbits, a tenrec, a tortoise, and several snakes.
The star of the visit was Mango, a 12-foot-long reticulated python, who was held by some of the more adventurous residents.
These visits are part of Merton Place’s ongoing programme of events designed to bring 'joy, stimulation, and meaningful experiences' to residents.
The care home also welcomed family members, friends, prospective residents, and caregivers throughout the week.
Visitors were invited to take part in activities, tour the facilities, and speak with staff about care options, daily life at the home, and the support available to residents.
The week offered staff an opportunity to demonstrate their approach to 'compassionate, person-centred' care and to strengthen ties with the wider community.
Family members of residents praised the care provided at Merton Place.
One reviewer said: "My mum is the most precious thing to me and knowing that she is being taken care of is a godsend.
"Mum has been in Merton Place for nearly seven years and I cannot praise the staff more for taking such good care of her and keeping in touch with the family.
"Putting family members in care homes is a difficult decision but having an excellent care home helps to diminish any worries."
Another family member said: "The service and care that Mum gets is second to none.
"I know she is in good safe hands, the food is always good.
"The staff are friendly and will always answer any questions."

Merton Place, owned and operated by ClwydAlyn, provides residential, nursing, and palliative care in a purpose-built, homely environment.
The care home is set in landscaped gardens in a quiet part of Colwyn Bay, close to the A55 and local amenities.
A small number of spaces are currently available for those in need of full-time residential or nursing care.
