BAY of Colwyn town councillors will consider the possibility of arranging a Red Arrows flypast at a future event.
The proposal will be discussed at the General Purpose and Planning Committee meeting, which will take place remotely via Zoom at 6.30pm on Tuesday, October 21.
According to the meeting agenda, councillors will “receive and consider an email and application form regarding arranging a Red Arrows flypast at a possible future event.”
The email set to be discussed is from Cllr Chris Brockley, of Llandrillo yn Rhos ward.
The email states: "I've been contacted several times regarding requesting a Red Arrows flypast. Looking at the application form they ask for events, crowds and media coverage as factors when it comes to deciding routes.
"I've asked the resident(s) what event they have in mind to which they said they haven't actually got one in mind they just really want to see the Red Arrows in Colwyn Bay (and who doesn't). They've even done some research themselves and believe that you don't need an event and can just request them, although I think the chances of this happening will be next to nil, however we might be in the flight path of another event en-route.
