HOW can it possibly top last year? That’s the question ahead of this year’s whopping £42,000 Llandudno Fireworks Display
The thrilling 22-minute free spectacular, from North Shore beach, will return to the town on Friday, November 7 at 6.30pm. In case of poor weather, a backup date of Saturday, November 8 at 6.30pm has been set.
Both dates are subject to weather conditions.
This year, there will be a strong focus on bucket collections, with organisers encouraging visitors to give generously to help support the costs of staging the event in future years.
The event is organised by Llandudno Town Council. They are supported by Adam Williams and his team from Llandudno Pier and Tir Prince, as well as Conwy County Borough Council.
Ignite Pyrotechnics have once again been appointed the fireworks contractor.
Cllr Carol Marubbi, Chairman of the Fireworks Sub-Committee, said: "We are just finalising if the weather is going to be suitable, we have got our own health and safety officer and we have got Adam from the Pier - safety is paramount. At 3pm on Thursday, we will know if it is going to be Friday or if it will be Saturday.
"Ignite, that we have worked with for the last couple of years, are fantastic. I don’t know how they are going to blow us out of the water this year.
"I have been working with them for a while and I always say to them - 'you can't surprise me this year' - last year they had Italian fireworks, the white silvery ones at the end, and that was spectacular.
"The actual fireworks cost about £25,000 - we have people from Blackpool, Burnley, Leeds, people from everywhere came to see the fireworks last year and they said it was one of the best displays they have ever seen.
"We can't compete with London but the actual cost of £42,000 is because we’ve got to have toilets, we've got to have paramedics, St John's Ambulance - we have to adhere to the rules and guidelines. We have to have security and they have to be Level Four/Level Five - they all cost thousands, so the rest of the money is all on safety, on highways, that is what the main cost is for us.
"We want people to be safe and if everybody gave £1, it would be a huge benefit. We have also got collectors and they get 25 per cent of what is in their bucket for their charities - The Lifeboat, the Lions, the Sea Cadets - all these people we help.
"You can tell how passionate I am about it."
Cllr Marubbi said she will keep fighting for the firework display, for "as long as I draw breath."
"We want to keep them," she said.
"Businesses and so many people benefit from the event. Last year, we had more than 25,000 people attend.
"Families and children and individuals deserve these events. Adam is a great ambassador for the event and we work well together. We have a great team.
"I am just hoping and praying it’s a lovely day - safety is paramount to us. We have got paramedics. Last year, we had very little incidents but we do get people having diabetic incidents as it is on the border of tea time. I try to advise people that if you are on inhalers or you are a diabetic, make sure you have had something to eat. The display lasts 22 minutes, but it might be another 30 minutes or more before you get home, so make sure you look after yourself.
"With donations, we aren't asking for megabucks, but if people come with a couple of pounds, it will make a difference."

Date and Time
The display will commence at 6.30pm on Friday, November 7, 2025, from North Shore beach, Llandudno.
In case of adverse weather conditions on Friday, the alternative date is 6.30pm on Saturday, November 8. Both dates are subject to weather conditions.
Road Closure
The promenade will be closed from the junction of North Parade to the junction with Ty’n y Ffrith Road starting at 4pm on Friday until 9pm (at the latest). Vehicles can be parked in this area before 4pm but cannot be moved until the road reopens.
Parking
Visitors are welcome to use the town centre car parks and on-street parking in the area. The Victoria Centre Car Park will remain open until 7.30pm.
Collection
Many collectors will be present on the promenade during the display night. The council kindly asks people to consider bringing a donation for the collection buckets. The support from the public is "vital" for the sustainability of the event.
No Sparklers
For health and safety reasons, sparklers are not permitted within the event area.
After the event
Be aware that the roads will be quite busy after the display. People are encouraged to stay and enjoy all that Llandudno has to offer.
The Town Council’s Health and Safety Officer will be meeting with the Fireworks Chairman, Conwy County Borough Council Events, Llandudno Pier, and the Fireworks Contractor on Thursday, November 6. If there are any changes regarding the display, this will be shared with the public.
