LLANDUDNO'S free fireworks display raised more than £5,000 this year after a 'big push' was put on fundraising.
Money, about £5,500 in total, was raised towards the event by the town council through bucket donations and sponsorship.
Thousands of people lined the Promenade, from the Pier to Craig y Don, to enjoy the dazzling display which lit up the night sky on Friday, November 7 and concluded with a breath-taking finale. The £42,000 display launched from North Shore beach and featured sparkling sprays, comets, rockets, shimmering colours, sizzling whistles, soft crackles, and more.
Cllr Antony Bertola, Mayor of Llandudno, said: “I hope that everyone enjoyed this year’s fantastic fireworks display. It was even better than last year - the response from the crowds after the finale was amazing.

Cllr Carol Marubbi, Chairman of the Town Council’s Fireworks Sub-Committee, said: “On behalf of the Town Council, I would like to thank the Councillors, Town Council staff, volunteer collectors, Conwy County Borough Council Events and ERF teams, and everyone involved in putting on such a fantastic display. Particular thanks go to Adam Williams of Llandudno Pier for his generous support in providing all the machinery and manpower to ensure the event could go ahead, and to Ignite Pyrotechnics for putting on such a fabulous show.
"Without all the stakeholders working together, this annual major event would not be possible.”
The event is organised by Llandudno Town Council who are supported by Adam Williams and his team from Llandudno Pier and Tir Prince, as well as Conwy County Borough Council.
Ignite Pyrotechnics were once again appointed the fireworks contractor.
Cllr Marubbi told the Pioneer, ahead of the display, that she would keep fighting for the fireworks display, for "as long as I draw breath."
She said: "If everybody gave £1, it would be a huge benefit."
"The actual fireworks cost about £25,000.
"We can't compete with London but the actual cost of £42,000 is because we’ve got to have toilets, we've got to have paramedics, St John's Ambulance - we have to adhere to the rules and guidelines. We have to have security and they have to be Level Four/Level Five - they all cost thousands, so the rest of the money is all on safety, on highways, that is what the main cost is for us."
