Llandudno’s 10 most dangerous streets according to police data

This analysis uses the official police.uk open data to retrieve street-level crime data for the five policing neighbourhoods that cover Llandudno's urban area: Tudno, Mostyn, Gogarth, Craig-y-Don, and Penrhyn.

Data was pulled for all 12 months of 2025, with a total of 3,047 individual crime records retrieved and analysed.

Street-level crime locations on police.uk are anonymised - each crime is "snapped" to the nearest map point, which may be the centre of a street, a public location, or a commercial premises.

This means the data shows approximate concentrations, not exact crime scenes.

Generic location types (e.g. “supermarket” or “bus station”) were excluded from the street rankings, as they represent location categories rather than named roads.

Tudno, the neighbourhood covering Llandudno's eastern area, accounts for the largest share of all recorded crime.

The overall crime rate in the Llandudno postcode area stands at 97.5 crimes per 1,000 population.

Despite this, violent crime in the area decreased by 7.2 per cent in 2025.

Violent crime dominates at 37.9 per cent, though anti-social behaviour is notably high at 24.1 per cent - Llandudno most exceeds the national average in this regard, at 31st highest out of 99 postcode areas in England and Wales.

Vehicle crime (0.9 per cent) and robbery (0.2 per cent) are unusually low - Llandudno has the sixth-lowest vehicle crime rate and third-lowest robbery rate of all 99 postcode areas.

The 10 most dangerous streets

1. Ty Isa Road - 146 crimes (12.2 per month)

Ty Isa Road is located in the Gogarth neighbourhood (LL30 2PL), running behind the Upper Mostyn Street shopping area.

Shoplifting dominates this location, accounting for 62.3 per cent of all recorded crimes.

2. Hill Terrace - 81 crimes (6.8 per month)

Hill Terrace is an elevated Victorian street on the lower slopes of the Great Orme, just above Llandudno Pier and the promenade.

The street is home to several hotels and guest houses, while the surrounding area has a high proportion of flats with private rental tenure. Violent crime leads at 39.5 per cent.

3. Vardre Lane - 80 crimes (6.7 per month)

Vardre Lane runs between Upper Mostyn Street and North Parade in the town centre, within the Gogarth neighbourhood.

It housed Llandudno's original police station and magistrates' court, built in 1867.

Violent crime is heavily dominant at 61.3 per cent - the second-highest proportion of any street in the top 10. Crimes ranged from one to 16 per month in 2025.

4. Clonmel Passage — 78 crimes (6.5 per month)

Clonmel Passage is located off Clonmel Street in the Mostyn neighbourhood, near Trinity Square and Llandudno railway station.

Unlike most other top streets, antisocial behaviour (60.3 per cent) is the dominant crime type here - the highest ASB proportion of any street in the top 10. Crimes ranged from one to 16 per month in 2025.

5. King’s Road — 76 crimes (6.3 per month)

King's Road is in the Mostyn neighbourhood, a residential street in the central Llandudno area near the promenade. Antisocial behaviour leads at 43.4 per cent, followed by violent crime at 32.9 per cent.

6. Maes-y-cwm — 60 crimes (5.0 per month)

Maes-y-cwm is a residential street in the Tudno neighbourhood (LL30 1JE), located east of the town centre, near Ysgol John Bright secondary school.

The area has a deprivation rating of 10/10 - the most deprived category - with the predominant housing type being flats in social rental tenure.

Violent crime leads heavily at 55 per cent. Crimes ranged from one to 14 per month in 2025.

Tudor Crescent is in the Tudno neighbourhood. Located near Parc Llandudno shopping park, it is the only street in the top 10 where shoplifting (55.1 per cent) is the most common crime.

Windsor Passage is in the Gogarth neighbourhood, located near the town centre.

Crime is relatively evenly distributed across categories, with violent crime leading at 37 per cent and antisocial behaviour second at 23.9 per cent.

Maes Clyd is in the Tudno neighbourhood, where violent crime is the dominant category at 58.7 per cent, and criminal damage and arson also high at 15.2 per cent.

This street has the narrowest range of crime types of any in the top 10, with offences concentrated across just four categories.

10. B5115 — 46 crimes (3.8 per month)

The B5115 is a major road running from Llandudno through Penrhyn Bay towards Rhos-on-Sea and Colwyn Bay.

The section captured in this data falls primarily within the Tudno neighbourhood (44 crimes) with a small portion in Penrhyn (two crimes).

Shoplifting leads at 43.5 per cent, followed by antisocial behaviour at 34.8 per cent. Crimes ranged from one to eight per month in 2025.
