Rydal Penrhos in Colwyn Bay to open nursery in September

Picturesque Rydal Penrhos School, which features Grade II-listed and purpose-built buildings set in landscaped grounds, will launch the new nursery in September. The setting will complement its Rydal Penrhos Pre-School which admits children from the age of two.

The nursery will be housed in a purpose-designed facility linked to the existing Pre-School. Children will benefit from modern facilities, including a sensory room.

The sensory room has been specially designed for very young children.

“Parents across North Wales are navigating demanding schedules and complex choices, and we want to deliver a high-quality option that gives them confidence from day one.

“Extending our early years provision to the very youngest children is a significant step, and one we are taking with the same commitment to care, continuity, and environment that defines everything we do at Rydal Penrhos.”

The launch comes in response to growing demand from parents seeking early access childcare. It also strengthens an early years pathway at Rydal Penrhos that has achieved national award recognition.

Earlier this year, Rydal Penrhos Pre-School was named a finalist for the NDNA Nursery of the Year Wales award, while the Prep School was shortlisted for Independent Prep School of the Year.

The new nursery and Pre-School will operate in close connection, offering families a pathway from infancy.

“We have thought carefully about how the space is designed, how we communicate with parents throughout the day, and how the nursery connects naturally with our Pre-School.

“The Seesaw app gives parents a real window into their child’s day, which matters enormously when you are leaving a baby or toddler in someone else’s care.

“We want families to feel not just reassured, but genuinely confident.”

Rydal Penrhos will host Nursery and Pre-School Open Events on May 8 and 9. There are a limited number of places available.
