TAKING my niece and her five‑month‑old daughter to Manorafon Farm Park in Abergele felt like the perfect way to ease into spring.
The park promises a full day of family adventure — pig races, cuddly animals, a dinosaur trail and plenty of places for kids to burn off energy — and even though our littlest visitor was far too young for most of it, we still found plenty to enjoy.
We visited just a few days after the Great Easter Eggsperience, so the park was a touch quieter than peak holiday season, but still buzzing with families. It’s definitely worth checking what special events are running before you go; Manorafon’s calendar is packed with themed days for Easter, Halloween, Christmas and more.
Raptor Run
With a five‑month‑old, our pace was naturally slower. The Raptor Run, pedal go‑karts and soft play will all have to wait until she’s toddling. But she loved the fresh air on the field trail and was mesmerised by the animals — and, unexpectedly, the dinosaurs. The Dinosaur Trail was far more impressive than I expected, and it even stirred up a bit of nostalgia, reminding me of the old Dinosaur World at Eirias Park.
One small negative: the stony paths can be tricky to navigate with a pram. It’s manageable, but worth knowing before you set off.
On the plus side, my niece was genuinely impressed by the cleanliness of the toilets and facilities, which isn’t always a given at busy family attractions. She’s already talking about bringing the baby back when she’s older and can get hands‑on with the animals.
Dill
And there are plenty of animals to meet. We were lucky enough to be among the first visitors to see baby Dill, the park’s newborn alpaca, snuggled up in the paddock with his mum Pearl. Over at Cwtch Corner, families were lining up for rabbit cuddles, and out in the fields we spotted goats, pigs and all the usual farm favourites.
The Pig Race was a highlight — silly, energetic and full of punny names like Ariana Grunte, Taylor Swine and Harry Squeals. It’s impossible not to get swept up in it.
Food-wise, the park does a solid job. There’s a good range of hot options — hotdogs, pasties, homemade paninis, jacket potatoes and kids’ picnic bags — plus decent coffee and Marshfield ice cream for anyone needing a sweet pick‑me‑up.
Even with a baby too young to join in most of the action, Manorafon Farm Park made for a lovely day out. It’s the kind of place that grows with your family: fun now for the fresh air and gentle animal encounters, and full of future promise once little ones are big enough to race, climb and explore.
We’ll definitely be back — and next time, I suspect the dinosaurs will have some competition for her attention.
