LOOK: Inside the brand-new Isaiah Bar at the St George's!

The new bar opened on Friday, May 1 at the four star seaside hotel - just in time for Llandudno’s Victorian Extravaganza, which took place over the May Bank Holiday weekend.

Designed as a relaxed summer pit stop for guests, the Isaiah Bar offers a carefully curated selection of coffee, beer, ice cream and tapas.

The launch follows another significant achievement for St George’s Hotel, which has recently been awarded a 5-star food hygiene rating following an inspection by the Food Standards Agency. This top rating recognises excellence in food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen management across all areas of the hotel’s food and beverage operations.

The Isaiah Bar will be open at weekends, weather permitting, and will act as a seasonal space to enjoy food and drink in a unique coastal setting.

The name of the new space is a nod to the hotel’s founder.

The seafront hotel was built by Isaiah Davies, who was just 24 years old. He was born on a farm on the Great Orme and inherited a pub called the King’s Head (still in operation at the foot of the Great Orme near the tram station) when he married the owner’s daughter, Anne Owen, at just 19 years old.

Isaiah acquired the plot in a rather unusual way, by exchanging the drinking debts at the King’s Head, which were owed by John Williams, an agent for Lord Mostyn’s family, who owned all the land along Llandudno Promenade.
