BEADY-eyed residents caught sight of a small expedition cruise ship in Llandudno, equipped for visits to polar regions such as the Arctic and Antarctic.
The M/V Sea Spirit, a vessel operated by Poseidon Expeditions, was seen in Llandudno on Tuesday, May 5.
Resident Greg Mape spotted the vessel anchored off Llandudno's famous Pier and, thinking it was "such an unusual sight", took photographs of it.
A spokesperson from Poseidon Expeditions told the Pioneer: "For over 27 years, Poseidon Expeditions has specialized exclusively in expedition cruises to the polar regions - the Arctic and Antarctica. Today’s call to Llandudno marks the start of our three-day Poseidon Expeditions Partner Voyage from Llandudno to Greenock, Scotland, with around 60 travel partners on board.
"The voyage is designed as a short expedition-style experience, giving our partners a first-hand introduction to small-ship expedition cruising, life aboard Sea Spirit, educational activities, and the opportunity to connect with our expedition and sales teams.

"With a capacity of just 114 guests, Sea Spirit is purpose-built for small-scale expedition cruising, allowing access to remote landing sites and carrying a fleet of Zodiac boats for landings and excursions."
Sea Spirit has been retrofitted with Rolls Royce Zero Speed Stabilizers that allow safe, stable navigation through icy waters.
The vessel boasts an expedition team, comprising polar experts such as ornithologists, marine biologists and glaciologists. The team also includes kayak masters, Zodiac drivers and photographers.
The spokesperson added: "The vessel will continue toward Scotland, with a planned stop in Northern Ireland for coastal exploration activities.
"The voyage also marks the beginning of Poseidon Expeditions’ 2026 Arctic season, which includes expeditions to Svalbard, Greenland, Iceland, and the British Isles."
