THE owners of a Llandudno B&B say they are “enjoying the moment” after it was ranked among the best in the world.
Steve and Julie Wood have run Burleigh House in Llandudno for nearly two decades.
The guest house on Church Walks has received global recognition after being named in the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards: Best of the Best Hotels 2026.
The guest house was named the third-best B&B in the UK and is number 11 in the world on the Wales Winners List.
Talking about the accolade, Steve and Julie said to the Pioneer: "We are both really pleased with the accolade, especially as we are coming up to our 20th year owning and running the guest house.
"We took on Burleigh House in 2006, after leaving our jobs in Stockport to follow a dream and for a lifestyle change.
"After receiving this award, we would like to thank our family, friends, and of course all our lovely guests, some of whom have been supporting us since day one and have become great friends.
"Llandudno is such a beautiful place to live, and it's great to be in the company of many other family-owned businesses, who also deserve to be recognised.
"I'm not sure we will be running Burleigh House in another 20 years, but for the time being we will enjoy the moment and carry on welcoming visitors, old and new, to Burleigh House and Llandudno."
The B&B, which boasts six en-suite rooms, is 5-star rated (excellent) on TripAdvisor and has received 1,290 reviews.
The awards recognise the most highly rated hotels worldwide, with winners determined by both the quality and volume of reviews collected between January and December 2025.
Reviews on Tripadvisor for Burleigh House include: "The hosts demonstrate a rare combination of warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism, creating an environment where guests feel genuinely welcomed and valued from the moment they arrive."
Another said: "Our first stay at Burleigh House and it was wonderful. We were made so welcome when we arrived, as if we were a member of the family."
Another commented: "This is possibly the best guest house in Llandudno."
A string of Llandudno B&Bs were recognised among the UK’s best in the Tripadvisor awards, including Min y Don (6th in UK), The Rosedene (8th in the UK), The Cliffbury Guest House (10th in UK) and Between The Bays, rated number 15 B&B in the UK.
