LLANDUDNO could face a wait of around six months for a replacement Post Office after the town was dealt a double blow with the closure of its main branch and TG Jones store.
The Post Office has confirmed that the vacancy has been advertised and it is now looking more closely at expressions of interest, but warned that opening a replacement branch can take about six months.
The news comes after it was confirmed that the TG Jones store on Mostyn Street will close in January, with the main Post Office branch, which operates from the store, also set to shut in early 2027.
There is only one other Post Office in the town, a small counter inside the One Stop store in West Shore.

The former WHSmith store, rebranded as TG Jones, has been a familiar fixture on the town's high street for years.
A Post Office spokesperson said: “We fully recognise the challenging trading conditions that TG Jones and many other High Street retailers are facing at the moment.
“TG Jones had its Restructuring Plan approved by the High Court on 1 July. Consequently, TG Jones is to close its Llandudno store. Regrettably, Llandudno Post Office is due to close in early 2027. The date is being finalised.
“The vacancy has been advertised and we are now looking more closely at the expressions of interest. We want to open a replacement branch as soon as possible, but this can take around six months.
“In the interim an alternative branch is West Shore. There is also a Drop + Collect branch for pre-paid parcels and collections in Victoria Building.”
TG Jones confirmed that its Llandudno store is to close on January 23, 2027.
A spokesperson for TG Jones said: “As we work to secure the long-term future of TGJones, we have confirmed that our Llandudno shop will close.
“We know this will be disappointing news for our colleagues, customers and the local community.
“Our focus now is on supporting those affected and continuing to serve customers throughout the closure period.
“We would like to thank all of our colleagues for their commitment and the contribution they have made to TGJones.”
The closure follows the implementation of TG Jones' court-approved Restructuring Plan.
Gogarth Mostyn County Councillor Gareth Probert has written to the chief executive of Post Office Ltd seeking urgent assurances over the future of postal and banking services.
He said: “This is going to be a major concern for Llandudno. The Post Office is no longer just somewhere to post letters and parcels, for many people it has become their local bank branch, providing access to cash withdrawals, deposits and essential financial services.
“The only other alternative within the town is the small counter in West Shore which is already very busy.
“I am concerned about how that would cope with the demand currently served by the main town centre branch.
“Llandudno residents need certainty that they will continue to have access to a full Post Office service.”
