A NURSERY has shut its downstairs area as a precaution.

Princess Road Nursery School, in Old Colwyn, have been informed that a children - who recently attended the main nursery - has tested positive for Covid.

They posted on Facebook on Sunday evening (June 27): "We have been informed that a child who has recently attended the main nursery has tested positive for Covid. Unfortunately, with it being Sunday evening, we are unable to contact anyone from Track, Trace, Protect (TTP) until tomorrow morning.

"As a precaution we will be closing our downstairs nursery tomorrow morning (Monday, June 28) until we receive guidance from TTP.

"We appreciate that this is very late information to receive on a Sunday evening but feel it is the right thing to do for all the children and the staff.

"We would appreciate if everyone could share this status in the hope it reaches any parents who don’t follow this page."

The nursery has since posted (on June 28): "At the moment we are still waiting to hear back from TTP.

"As things stand we don’t think we will be able to open the nursery this afternoon (June 28), and unfortunately we won’t be able to open After School Club either.

"As soon as we know more we will update you again, but until then we are waiting in the same boat as everyone else.

"We appreciate your patience and understanding, and realise this is difficult for everyone."

The baby suite is open as normal.
