A BRACE from skipper Tom McCready helped Colwyn Bay wrap up their pre-season games with an excellent 3-1 win against Welsh Premier side Flint Town United in front of a crowd of 350.
It was an impressive display by Steve Evans’ squad ahead of next week’s opening league fixture at Llandudno, with McCready also having a goal disallowed for offside to deny him a treble.
In the first half, Dylan Allshorn fired wide after an excellent run, and also had a deflected shot tipped over the bar, as well as a low shot saved by the keeper.
McCready, who has impressed in the last two games, then curled a shot past the post before slamming home Joe Williams’ cutback to give Bay the lead at half-time.

A fine curling effort from Allshorn doubled the lead following an excellent run from Alex Downes, and McCready made it 3-0 with a tap in from a short corner before Flint pulled a goal back late on.
Manager Evans said: “We could have been 2-0 up in the opening 10 minutes. I thought we were well worth it.
“We had a few missing today, protecting them for next week and a few away as well.
“But the lads that came in were first class and for 60 to 70 minutes, I thought we were dominant.
“We’ll be back to it on Tuesday, ready to prepare for Friday night.”
