COLWYN Bay FC manager Steve Evans and captain Tom McCready were among the winners at the 2023 National League awards in Cardiff on Saturday evening (May 20).

Evans was named Cymru North manager of the season, with McCready the player of the campaign.

Former Wales international Evans was honoured for guiding the Bay to the JD Cymru North title and promotion to the Cymru Premier in his first full season as the club’s manager.

The Bay were also Welsh Blood Service League Cup Northern winners and beaten finalists in the national final.

McCready, who joined the Seagulls in 2018, scored 11 goals in 27 league appearances as the Bay secured the Cymru North title.

The 31-year-old former Exeter City midfielder was also included in the JD Cymru North team of the season along with team-mates Alex Downes, Lewis Sirrell and Sam Hart.

Llandudno goalkeeper Shaun Pearson was also included in the Cymru North team of the season.

The Genero Adran North team of the season included Llandudno’s Rebecca Jarvis-Evans, Sofie Owen and Jasmin Dutton.
