COLWYN Bay Rugby Club has created an online donations page which it aims to use for its younger members.

The fund, aimed at its under-15s players, will assist with the associated costs of playing rugby, such as boots, gum shields, scrum caps, team tours, travel and accommodation.

The club, founded more than 100 years ago, is based on Brookfield Drive, where its under-15s train on Sundays at 11am.

It is also planning to raffle gifts to raise further funds to support its young players.

Colwyn Bay Rugby Club added: “Should the team not be able to play games due to a decrease in numbers as players leave because parents cannot afford to pay for associated costs, it will have a decremental effect on players, coaches, the club, and the wider community.

“The team have been involved in community events, inspiring younger boys and girls to get involved in rugby, all of which will end if the team numbers decrease.”
