A Coleg Llandrillo-run sporting tournament has helped raise money for a Llandudno-based charity.
Coleg Llandrillo’s sports academy students raised money for St David's Hospice by organising a seven-a-side football tournament at the college’s Rhos-on-Sea campus as part of their annual community challenge.
The BTEC Level 1 sport and public services students spent months preparing, organising and marketing the one-day event. The overall winners on the day were the Level 3 sports science students who beat the Level 3 sport, performance and excellence team in a closely-fought final.
Student Tom Parry, 17, from Rhos-on-Sea, said: “Preparing for the competition was hard work, but to raise money for such a worthwhile local charity made it all worthwhile. We would like to thank all the people that entered the competition for their support.”
Charlotte Walker, Sports lecturer at Coleg Llandrillo, said: “The tournament was a huge success; it ran smoothly and all students enjoyed taking part. It was great to see the organising students put all the skills they had developed over the last few months into practice.”
