MEET Llandudno's new Miss Alice.

On Saturday, June 19, Llandudno Town Council held its annual competition. Emmie Holmes, 10, was chosen and was presented with a sash showing her title and a 'Miss Alice' outfit.

Thanks were given to Milly Woodyatt, the outgoing Miss Alice, who had remained in the role for an extra year due to Covid-19. Last year the 2020 competition had to be cancelled.

Cllr Harry Saville, mayor of Llandudno, said: "Congratulations to Emmie on being crowned Miss Alice 2021. This year’s competition saw a record number of entrants and I’d like to thank all those who entered.

"I’m looking forward to working with Emmie to promote our town as we recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.”

Emmie loves dancing, particularly tap, and would like to be on stage in the West End.

The Miss Alice role includes accompanying the mayor to civic engagements and on occasion, undertaking visits out of the area to promote Llandudno and the 'Miss Alice' connection.

The contest was for girls between eight and 10 years old. Youngsters living in the five wards of Llandudno were eligible to enter.
