A COUPLE of Llandudno FC youngsters have been offered two-year scholarships at Tranmere Rovers.

Midfielder Will Ford and defender Kieran Baker, both 16, were given high praise from Llandudno’s under-23s manager, Grant Montgomery, after receiving the offers.

Ford has been at Llandudno’s academy since the age of seven, making his way through the ranks before stepping away from the club for a season.

He returned to the club on his 16th birthday in February, making his under-23s debut a few days later.

The midfielder was a regular from the beginning, and has gone on to make five competitive appearances for Llandudno’s first team.

Montgomery told the club’s website: “Will getting this opportunity doesn’t surprise me at all.

“He plays beyond his years and I have no doubt he will have a great career in football.

“His commitment, attitude and his knowledge of football are second to none for a lad his age.”

Baker joined Llandudno earlier this year, and made his first team debut in September.

Sadly, injury held him back from making any further appearances.

On Baker, Montgomery added: “Kieran will go far in football.

“He has a great attitude and willingness to learn, and I’m sure I speak on behalf of everyone at Llandudno FC in wishing Kieran all the best in his new journey.”
