Llandudno's manager Jordan Hadaway praised his team's performance after defeat to Flint Town United.

Flint earned a 5-1 victory over Llandudno on Boxing Day - but for at least 65 minutes Llandudno were still in it.

However, Hadaway said his team would be judged over the hard work and results of the previous seven to eight weeks rather than getting something out of favourites Flint who are likely to top the league when they play their game in hand over leaders Airbus.

A quick one-two had Flint in control in the opening period at Llandudno.

Goalkeeper Josh Tibbetts supplied the assist for Elliott Reeves to make it 1-0 in the 31st minute. Within five minutes and Lee Fowler’s side had their second, with Sol Forde on the scoresheet.

Flint came flying out of the blocks for the second half and Josh Jones had them 3-0 up six minutes after the restart.

Rowan Davies pulled one back within five minutes, but the Silkmen made sure of the points when Jean-Louis Akpa-Akpro netted 20 minutes from time.

Things went from bad to worse for Llandudno with a red card to Harvey Bennett and Flint soon had a fifth goal courtesy of Luis Lacey.

Llandudno's manager Hadaway said there were positives to take out of the game.

He said: "They are the best team if the league that we've faced, they're well structured, they play good football and they are always going to cause your problems.

"But I also thought that we caused them problems. At two nil down I never thought we were out of the game, because we were creating opportunities.

"Credit to the lads, they never, ever stopped, right till the end."
