COLWYN Bay’s player manager Frank Sinclair has been crowned manager of the month.

Sinclair, who became manager in February, received the award for Conference North manager of the month for April after successfully steering his team clear of relegation with a remarkable six game winning streak.

Sinclair said: “It is great recognition for the club at what we achieved and I am really chuffed, but I see this as an award for everybody connected to the club - all the players, the board and the fans all played a huge part in those last six games.”

Winger Shelton Payne, one of Sinclair’s first signings to the club in February, also won player of the month.

Payne finished the season as the team’s second highest goal scorer.

Sinclair added: “Its great for Shelts to get his award. I brought him back to the club because of his goals and his assists and that paid off with the success we had over the last month.”

The club have now launched a campaign to attract more supporters, slashing admission prices for Conference North matches to £10 for the coming season, with free season tickets offered to under 16s.

Club chairman Bob Paton said: “This is our way of attracting as much support as possible for the club and also giving something back.

“It’s vital for us to get as much support as possible from the community.
“Without fans and people coming to watch the games - there would be no Colwyn Bay FC.”

Season tickets cost £200 for adults, and £105 for concessions, and are valid for all pre-season friendly games as well as all home league games.

Holders receive priority on all-ticket high profile matches, and will receive a 10 per cent discount on club shop purchases over £10.

Colwyn Bay play pre-season matches against Chelsea on Saturday, July 27, Leeds United on Tuesday, August 13, and Wrexham FC on a Tuesday evening, the date of which is still to be confirmed.

Mr Paton added: “We’re playing some very high profile matches in pre-season, and there’s a lot of interest coming from London, thanks to Frank Sinclair’s presence at the club.”
