LLANDUDNO manager Iwan Williams has pulled off a coup with the signing of Wes Baynes from Airbus Broughton.
The versatile player officially signed on at the Giant Hospitality Stadium on Wednesday, January 3, and is in contention for a place in the squad against Bala Town on Saturday.
The 29-year-old has signed from the Huws Gray Alliance outfit until the end of the season, can operate in either defence or midfield, has plenty of experience having turned out for the likes of Wrexham and Chester, in addition to Connah’s Quay Nomads and Colwyn Bay.
Williams, said: “I’ve tracked Wes for a number of years, even during his Wrexham days, he will come in and give us versatility, quality, and experience.
“His deliveries into the box and long throw capabilities can provide us with added threats going forward. After meeting with Wes I’m sure he’ll fit in great to a squad that’s in high spirits after our derby win.”
Baynes becomes the latest name to join the ranks as Tudno aim to push into the top six in their final two Phase One fixtures, with Marc Evans, assistant boss Matty Williams and the manager himself registering in time for their clash with the Lakesiders.
“After speaking with Iwan I’m very excited at the prospect of playing back in the Welsh Premier League for Llandudno, and hopefully helping them in their next two games of achieving that sixth spot everyone desires,” added the new signing, who has been one of the standout performers for the second placed Wingmakers so far this term.
