LLANDUDNO Academy and community coach James Parry has landed a prestigious role for a high-profile North American side.

After a five-year stay with the JD Welsh Premier League outfit, Parry has secured the role of Academy Centre head coach at MLS Western Conference side Vancouver Whitecaps in Canada.

He first offered his voluntary services as a junior coach to the U12’s, before becoming a member of the media team at Llandudno Football Club in 2014 when the club were vying for promotion to the top flight.

Parry became a key figure in the media setup in ensuring that the FAW and WPL media obligations were met when the club achieved their aim of promotion in 2015.

Following this he worked under lead community coach Sean Eardley before being promoted to Schools and Community Co-ordinator in 2017, excelling in the position alongside his fellow work colleagues and leaving behind fantastic foundations for the community to move forward.

A club spokesman, said: “James not only thrived in the community arm of the club but due to his persistence, determination, and patience James has gone from having completed his FAW Leaders Award and assisting with the running of a junior side, to a qualified UEFA B Licence Coach leaving behind two Academy teams he eventually was rewarded with managing thanks to his development and progression as a coach over the five years involved with the club.

“From everybody at Llandudno Football Club we wish James all the best in his new chapter in Canada, and are certain that he will continue to develop even further in his constantly broadening coaching career.”
