FORMER Llandudno defender Mike Williams has a new home after agreeing a deal with Flint Town United.

The experienced ex-professional joined the Silkmen on Tuesday after his release prior to the end of the JD Welsh Premier League season by Tudno boss Iwan Williams after a two-year stint at the club.

The centre half played a huge role in their memorable first season in the top flight, where they achieved a third place finish and qualified for the Europa League, where they took on Swedish giant IFK Goteborg in what was the biggest occasion in the club’s history.

Injury derailed his progress last season, with the former Kidderminster Harriers and Wrexham product opting to try his hand at the lesser demands of the Huws Gray Alliance in a bid to prolong his career.

He said: “After having chats with Niall (McGuinness) and Aden (Shannon) it was clear that the clubs ambitions matched my own.

“I’m still hungry for success and feel that Flint are a team aiming for promotion. We can have a good relationship on and off the field and I'm hoping my experience can help the team have a successful season.

“I’m looking forward to a new challenge and jointing Flint Town United."

There is plenty of speculation regarding the next destination for brother Marc, who was also released by Tudno at the end a disappointing campaign, with a host of clubs believed to have made offers for the prolific forward.
