COLWYN Bay have further strengthened their squad with the signing of Ryan Edwards.

The talented midfielder is the latest to reunite with manager Alan Morgan after deciding not to stay on at JD Welsh Premier League side Llandudno.

Edwards is widely regarded as one of the best young prospects in the region and was part of The New Saints of Oswestry Town squad that set a world record for most consecutive victories in 2016.

He also enjoyed a successful spell at Airbus Broughton before making a move to the Giant Hospitality Stadium, where he proved to be a very useful asset in creating chances from the middle of the park, and also chipped in with a number of vital goals of his own.

Assistant manager Craig Hogg, said: “We are really pleased Ryan has opted to join us at Colwyn Bay and it’s a signing that that we are certain will bring much value to the group.

“Ryan’s a good athlete and works incredibly hard and has the potential to be a real fans’ favourite here.

“Technically he is very good and extremely efficient with the ball and he certainly fits the profile of the type of player Seagulls fans’ will want to see wearing their shirt.

“Ryan is really looking forward to working with the players and staff here at the Bay and having worked with the gaffer and myself before, he knows what to expect from us, as we do of him.”

Edwards will join up with a Bay squad who are aiming to build on a positive second half of the campaign and secure promotion from the Evo-stik League, and the squad have been working hard on their fitness at specialised sessions ahead of the start of pre-season next week.
