RGC star Sam Jones has become the second member of the squad in as many weeks to pick up a high-profile award.

The talented winger has made a hugely encouraging return from injury for the Gogs so far this season and played a key contributing factor in their 34-26 success at Swansea to make it two wins in as many contests to start the campaign.

The 21-year-old winger displayed his trademark burst of pace before touching down during the triumph, and the sensational score has seen Jones shortlisted for the Principality Premiership Try of the Week accolade.

After a flurry of votes, Jones managed to scoop the accolade to make it two wins in a row for RGC standouts, with ex-Wales U18 international scrum-half Efan Jones winning the first award of the season for his try against Neath.

The back recently graduated from Bangor University and came through the Gogs’ Rugby Academy at Rydal Penrhos School prior to his introduction into the senior fold.
